Choosing the right aspect ratio and duration
The six aspect ratios, which lengths each model offers, what to pick for TikTok, YouTube or ads, and how to set it for the whole board or a single shot.
Ratio and duration are the two choices you make before every shot, and they shape everything after: where the video goes, how you write the prompt, how often you re-run. This article helps you pick quickly and correctly.
Which model offers which length

Two things people mix up: 15 seconds exists only on Seedance 2.0, and 30 seconds only on Seedance 2.5. Seedance 2.5 has no 15-second option.
Every run counts 2 credits whether the video is 5 or 30 seconds.
The six aspect ratios
Both models offer all six ratios Dola provides:

Before sending, the app reads back the ratio button on Dola's page to make sure it matches your choice. After downloading, it measures the video's real width and height; if Dola returned another ratio, the finished shot's card says so.
Choosing length by content

The longer the video, the more detailed the prompt it needs. Write 30-second shots with the 3–4 scene formula; a prompt too thin for a long video tends to make Dola suggest a shorter one or return a short video.
Longer videos also take longer to render on Dola's side. In real measurements a run usually takes from a few minutes to over ten minutes. The app follows Dola's estimate and extends the wait while Dola is still rendering.
Settings for the whole board or one shot
- For the whole board: the default settings at the top of Studio (model, ratio, duration, streams, save folder) apply to new shots. Once the board has shots, this panel folds into a single line; click it to open.
- For one shot: every draft card keeps its own model, ratio and duration, which you change right on the card.
- For every draft at once: Tools menu → Apply default settings to every draft brings all draft cards to the panel's current settings.
That lets one project mix lengths: 5-second cutaways and 30-second main scenes on the same board.
What about resolution?
Dola decides the resolution. The Library shows each video's real resolution, for example 1280×720. When you need to deliver something bigger, use Upscale to 2K, 4K or 5K on your own computer.
Example
A shop makes videos for one product, posted in two places:
- TikTok: 9:16, 15 seconds, Seedance 2.0: the product spinning on a table, a hand picking it up, a close-up of the label.
- YouTube: 16:9, 30 seconds, Seedance 2.5: three scenes (setting, the product in use, a slow-motion closing shot).
Both shots sit in the same project, each card with its own settings, and the files come out as <Project>_01.mp4 and <Project>_02.mp4.
