The Video Library, real measurements and Upscale to 2K, 4K, 5K

Every full-length video lands in the Video Library. That's where you review, pick the best take, grab files for editing, and raise the resolution when you need to deliver at higher quality. This article covers the Library first, then Upscale.

The Library: find and filter

• Two views: Cards (large previews) and Table (compact, many rows).
• Filter by model, ratio, duration, account and date.
• Search by words in the prompt, or by shot number: type #04, 04 or #04 · 2.
• The star marks favourites; filter them back with Starred.
• Select several: tick the box in a card's corner to remove them from the library, upscale them or open their folder all at once.
• Open video folder opens the folder holding the files on your computer.

Real measurements on every video

Every video in the Library shows the real measurements of the downloaded file, for example 30.08s · 1280×720: its length in seconds and its resolution in pixels. This is what the app measured on the file itself, not the length you asked for.

Because of that measurement, a video shorter than requested never reaches the Library. If Dola returned a different aspect ratio from the one you chose, the finished shot's card says so too.

Removing from the library and deleting files

Remove from library only hides the video from the list; the shot's history, credit counts and statistics stay as they are. If you also choose to move the file to the Trash, you can still restore it from your system's Trash.

Upscale: higher resolution on your own computer

Upscale uses AI to enlarge a video or image to 2K, 4K or 5K. For example, a 1280×720 video can become 5120×2880 (5K). Everything runs on your computer; your video isn't sent anywhere. Upscale is on every plan, Free included.

What your computer needs

Upscale runs on a graphics card with Vulkan support:

• Apple silicon Macs: built in.
• Windows: a Vulkan-capable graphics card with an up-to-date driver. If the app says no GPU answered, install or update the driver.

Upscale does not run on the CPU. The Detect GPUs button checks which card the app can see.

Steps

1. Open the Upscale tab.
2. Choose the AI model. Spider Upscale Video: the fastest and sharpest for Seedance videos, with 2K/4K/5K to choose from. Spider Upscale Anime: for drawn and stylised video. Spider Upscale Photo: keeps natural grain on live-action footage, but slower. The last two only offer the highest level.
3. Choose the Output resolution (with Spider Upscale Video: 2K, 4K or 5K). Set Video quality and GPU (Automatic is fine).
4. Choose where to save on the Save to: line → Change…. The app writes straight to the drive you pick, not your system drive.
5. Add a source: Upscale a Video, Upscale an Image, or From Video Library.

Before it starts, the app shows the output size, the frame count, the estimated time and the temporary disk space needed. If there isn't enough free space, it tells you how much is needed and where.

You can click Cancel at any time; the original video is untouched. An upscale interrupted because you closed the app can be run again with the same settings via Retry.

The upscaled video keeps its sound and shows up in the Library.

When to upscale

Upscaling takes computer time: every frame is processed on its own, so a 30-second video can take a while depending on your graphics card. The app estimates the time for your machine before it starts. So:

• Do upscale the takes you've chosen to deliver: video for big screens, channels that publish at high resolution, or when a client asks for 4K.
• Don't upscale every video in a batch. Pick the best takes first, then upscale.
• Choose just enough. 2K is usually plenty for social media; 4K and 5K for print, projection or high-quality master files.
• Upscaling makes the picture sharper and more detailed, but it can't fix a video with the wrong content. For a flawed video, re-running the shot is the better fix.

Example

You have 12 takes of 5 ad shots. In the Library, filter that project, star the 5 best takes, filter Starred, select all 5, and upscale them to 4K with Spider Upscale Video, saving to an external drive. The app shows the estimated time and temporary space; you start it and go make coffee. When it's done, five 4K videos with sound sit on the external drive and in the Library.
